Travel Guide For the 1900-1930 Time Span
What clothes to wear:
Women – women usually wore long dresses, tight on the waist but loose around the chest and shoulders. They wore hats and even ties for formality and elegancy.
Men – men, in formal occasions, wore coats and other types of suits. The suits were only dark colors. They also wore long pants. Other common accessories were hats, walking canes, and ties. When they were working around the house men used cowboy-style hats, long-sleeve white shirts, long leather pants, and boots. They also wore vests.
What kind of money was used:
Since 1900, the Texan currency was been U.S Dollars. However, besides dollars they also constantly used coins. Nickels were wooden and other coins were either silver or copper. $2 bills were common.
What to eat:
WWI was a big factor in everything during this time period. A lot of the food had lost its quality since there was an economic depression. Therefore, Self-Serve markets were introduced. So, around this time period, it wasn’t such a great idea to eat in a restaraunt. You had to buy your own food, which wasn’t very good in quality.
How to get around:
Common transportation around this type was:
-Rail transport (Steam-powered trains)
-Animals (horses or bullocks)
-Trams (Alike to a bus)
-Cars (Old Fashioned and were for wealthy people)
Where to stay:
There were cheap motels around this time. However, if you were wealthy, you could stay in a luxury hotel.
What to see and do:
Many phenomenal plays were conducted at theaters. You could go to a theater to watch a play, or other events.
Where to find recreation:
At this time, people used to go to bars and dance clubs. There were a lot of public sports where you could be part of the audience for free. If you liked to stay home, playing an instrument or reading were common inside hobbies.

During this time, most souvenirs were expensive, especially pottery.

-Hand-Painted glass vases.
Music:
-Jazz, Waltz and other ballads were popular at this time. You had to buy your music record for you to play it at home.
